Better connected neighborhoods take action against crime

Criminal groups operate more easily in hard to reach areas. Well designed streets and infrastructure facilitate surveillance and rapid police action.

Public transport can reduce inequality

Areas without public transportation tend to become isolated and can produce a spiral of negative effects such as unemployment, inequality, and crime. More and better public transportation makes it easier for people to access more and better opportunities.
